(11,631 posts)Miss the kids since March but very relieved about that the way things are trending. Also very grateful we got Pritzker instead of Rauner these days and don't have a knucklehead Republican Gov pulling in the wrong direction like some of these states.

(253 posts)Students can opt out or have 1/2 day but teachers and staff full time in person..thanks Gov Murphy! Wonder if he's getting his eulogies ready for that first student or teacher funeral?

(11,631 posts)The districts are making the decision how to proceed I only meant the governor isn't mandating that they open in person the way I think Kemp and Desantis have done.

(253 posts)He then left it up to each district what that looks like but no district in NJ can go remote only, even if they want to. Cases are rising again after working so hard this past spring to flatten the curve. Foolish decision on his part and I'm surprised he's aligning himself with what Rethug governors are mandating. He just ordered no gatherings indoors over 25 but schools are allowed to open. I had respect for the way he handled this past spring, but can't stand him now- putting teachers, students, their families at risk.
