Voting, in person, in Flint Township was a breeze

I think there are 3 precincts in my polling place but there were very few people voting so social distancing wasn't a problem. Granted, it was 8:30 in the morning. I usually vote later but I had some Kroger coupons that were expiring (I LOVE Special K cereal) so I wanted to get that done during 'vulnerable shoppers hour'.

Some news reports are saying that mail in voting really took off, in Michigan, so we will get a taste of how that will impact tallying the votes.

It was a lengthy ballot and it took a long time to make sure I'd darkened all of the circles adequately. So I will also add that I am grateful my allergies eased up because I can't imagine the "discomfort" of sneezing while wearing a mask.

Glad it was hassle-free. I mailed in my ballot and they've had it for about 3 weeks. It will be interesting to see how fast the mail-in ballots are counted.

3. Primary - no in person early voting in Michigan. Unfortunately.

We just started mail in voting, here, other than the absentee voting that required, other than age, some sort of reason for not being able to vote in person. Not sure how they ever verified that, but I never used it.

I'm going to request my ballot for the November election, get it filled in and dropped off at the clerk's office, hopefully within a day of it arriving.

7. The supervising poll worker urged me to NOT mail in my ballot - but deliver it in person.

Which was my plan, anyway. The township clerk's office is only a couple of miles from my house (and conveniently right across the street from Kroger. I love combining errands.). There is a drop box, and they also said you can also hand it in, inside the building, during regular hours.

9. They are saying ballot requests for mail in ballots are running high for this primary

If that proves to be true, no doubt it will be an even bigger mode of voting in the general. Hopefully they get the word out that you can drop off your ballot instead of mailing it.

Adequately filling in all of those circles is time consuming. The last time I voted, my ballot was spit out because one of those circles wasn't dark enough. Fortunately it was a short ballot so I just added another layer to all of them. The ballot in the general is MUCH bigger. If that happened, again, I'd be forever trying to find the lightweight. So, IMHO, if your polling place is crowded, and you have those 'fill in the dot' ballots, it is more than a bit of a 'stress test'.
