5. This is a fine commentary, but I dislike it as an obituary.

I certainly understand why people would be angry and bitter, and would blame those who have been shrugging off the virus while happily spreading it. This makes a strong statement and I would admire it as a guest editorial in the form of a mock obituary, but not as the actual and only obit for a man who has lived on this earth for 80 years.

I'm sure he was so much more than just how he died. I recently wrote my father's obituary and was very proud of how it painted a verbal portrait of the man. It felt like a tribute to my dad and all he did in his life. So this one just struck me as disrespectful to the man who died.

It just seems like Trump and his idiots 'win' when we have no identity or value other than being his victims.

deal with how needless it was. Thete are so many ways to grieve. Maybe they will save lives. Maybe they will put iut a new obit at the time of his funeral when COVID is gone and such things can happen again.

So sorry for your loss. Glad you were able to take the long view in your tribute to him.

And publish a different obituary later, when they have his funeral.

And thank-you for your sympathy. This hit a tender spot for me because compiling the info and writing a really nice obituary for my father felt like such a gift to him.

12. Most people are not going to read the obituary. His own family and friends are the ones experiencing

the loss and know what he meant outside of what was mentioned in there.

More people will read this specific obit because of the message it's sending.
