I don't see any poll showing 29%.
Morning Consult was 39% yesterday, 38% today.
You sure you didn't hear 39?

18. When I Looked At 538, It Showed His Approval Going UP

And I was like, how could his approval rating be going UP? What has he done recently to cause that? I can't think of a single thing.

Hey, screaming that really is easier than having to accept reality. Every time hubby asks me about something I did I'm gonna yell that at him.

Trump's approval rating has stayed within a narrow band of 37%-44% practically since taking office. Like it or not, I see that as meaning he's got a floor of around 37% MAGAts/racists/fundies/whatever who'll support him through thick or thin, and another 7% of people for whom an apparent improvement in performance matters. The chance that he'd lose a yuge chunk of that diehard base overnight is practically nil.

However, the "once bit twice shy" pollsters are now oversampling republicans and since many moderate republicans have left the party, the remaining sludge is solidly behind Trump.

The actual approval rating is probably around 30%.

19. Id like to see a poll of GOP approval %. Presidential approval rates rarely translates

Presidential approval ratings rarely match the vote tally.

Why? Because people vote their party, not the candidate.
