Side note: Navarro is such a weird little man. So is Kudlow. Where do they get these weirdos (who often seem like they are on something)?

(21,969 posts)I mean on the one hand, you can listen to someone like Dr. Fauci, who has spent most of his life studying epidemics and has advised six presidents, or on the other hand you can listen to someone like Dr. Immanuel, who thinks that gynecological problems are caused by people dreaming about having sex with demons.
Who's to say who's right?

(11,744 posts)He is saying that medical doctor's opinions are a dime a dozen. He an economist. No offense to economists out there but this fool is trying to knock people who are informed by hard science when he works in a field that basically guesses at human behavior through analysis of trading transactions and manufacturing and hasn't been able to produce any cogent understanding of the information.
Navarro is a hack and shouldn't be talking about medicine or science in any way. His opinion on the pandemic is less than worthless.

(17,197 posts)at no extra charge -- your choice of (A) a medical degree, (B) an international relations degree, (C) a degree in particle physics, or (D) a political science degree. I guess Peter chose (A).

(52,332 posts)Once upon a time, the networks wouldn't dream of giving airtime to crackpot and lunatic fringe theories.
At most, it's a one-time story that there are people out there talking about such nonsense, then the media *called* it nonsense and moved on to facts and things that matter.
These days they're more than happy to let them promote something clearly harmful, maybe useless at best, surely these crooks are making money off it somehow, and it's taking away from sound advice that could save lives.
