First, Romney stepping down would be unprecedented scandal.

Second, a wounded Romney is better than another candidate from a scandalously incompetent party.

Why do DUers post this stuff?

You are so presumptuous as to assume you know how Republicans think and what they might try to do with a desperately wounded candidate late in the game. Frankly, your arrogance is in a class with Romney himself.

Why do you post this stuff? Just to be condescending or is there a deeper problem?

If there is still an Ignore list feature in this place, you may consider yourself on it.

(although I have read it and keep a copy bookmarked), but aren't we voting for electors pledged to a certain candidate or party, not the candidates themselves? Is there anything to prevent the Romney electors from getting together and saying, hey, no way is this guy presidential material -let's all vote for Jeb instead.

Changing the actual ballots? I doubt it: voting's already started in some states.

As bad as Romney is, he's much more reasonable than the buffoons he ran against in the primaries. His 47% gaffe would have been smal potatoes compared to the rot that would have been uttered by the other candidates.
