(23,973 posts)47% of me wants to fake a back injury so I can scam the Worker's Comp office out of a three-month paid vacation from work, but the 53% of me wants me to go visit my money in the Cayman Islands.

(3,908 posts)We got to my husband's grandfather's funeral visitation in 1987 in another state and found out they were waiting for him to make all the decisions because they could not agree and he hadn't been around growing up so they would agree to what he said. Yikes!
Then we found out there was a lack of cars to get us to the cemetery some 20miles away and so we had 20 people in our 77 Oldsmobile full size sedan. Four adults and one teen on the sat in the back. Luckily half he people were young kids. One on each knee in the back. Four adults in the front and 2 tweens. Yes we know that was insane, but the alternative was that people would not be able to go to the cemetery and dinner afterwards. No time to get another car so we hillbillyed it.
We then got to take the large immediate family to a recommended restaurant and treat afterwards at which point they had an sominela outbreak in chicken in the state. Those that ate dark meat got terribly sick for at least 3 days. Those that ate the white meat were fine. My husband ate dark meat and our two elementary age boys had a few days to tour while he spent 2 1/2 days in the motel bathroom and dropped 20 lbs.

(17,651 posts)Hey, you all did what you had to do and that's the bottom line but ontop of all that, bad chicken? That day sounds like it makes the kickysnana family history books...you know the one story that gets repeated at least once a year or during big family get togethers.
Oy vey that's some messed up day!!

(5,810 posts)The past few months of the campaign season have been stressful watching Mitt and Ryan do their thing and listening to poll after poll saying this thing is neck and neck. Bologna! I just don't believe that but it still grates on your nerves and puts a little bug in the back of your brain that keeps asking if maybe it's true.
The comments I read here are really helpful and often lead me to information that helps rid me of those doubts and worries. But it's the funny comments on here that bring me back time after time. Some of the comments literally make me laugh out loud (sometimes I worry I'll wake my napping husband). Other times I have almost peed my pants. (I confess that's not too hard to do these days. LOL) But the important thing is that it gives great relief from the worry and uncertainty this summer has brought.
As we enter fall and the home stretch of Election 2012, it is great to have a place like this where I can vent my frustration, ask questions, find answers and best of all find a great bunch of smart folks who know how to have a good laugh!
THANKS!
