(15,328 posts)As I posted a bit further on, the actress in the video used to work with rt.com (Russian TV).
Youtube (google) also has lots of ways of tracking who watches/forwards and feeding that info to paid sponsors.
Be extra careful, people.
StClone
(11,686 posts)If this is widely seen on FB what good does it do them to track the viewers? To know then how badly it's going for them or at best allow for targeting ads?
On an aside, I'd love to see a rather brief ad that just had Trump's image with a "LOSER" label.
Voice over:He lost the last election. He lost lives, lost jobs, lost the America we knew. Vote to get this loser out.

(7,428 posts)Don't think the conservatives won't feel this like a Muhammed Ali punch. It stings like a bee!
Biting satire and mockery can be VERY effective against a stubborn, unreasonable opponent who refuses to debate in good faith.
In fact, I believe humor is an advantage that the left has. Joe Rogan touched on this recently, the right just doesn't have nearly as many comedians landing effective blows. It's not for lacking a sense of humor. They are just vulnerable here I believe.

(12,164 posts)and humor for them is mostly based in cruelty.
I think at one point Fox had a humor program that was supposed to compete with The Daily Show. I didnt watch it, but according to what I read it was predictably lame and was cancelled pretty soon after launching.

(25,526 posts)It was too long and a bunch of stuff about Juice Media at the end is distracting.
It's not an ad anyway, it's satire. (It can't be an ad because it comes from Australia)

(111,332 posts)The government there has raided them several times and has been trying to pass laws to shut them down, ostensibly for "impersonating government officials," showing once again that satire flies over the heads of conservatives, everywhere.
Their other "honest government" ads over at You Tube are hilarious, and also point out that conservatives are all stuck in the same tired old fallacies, everywhere.
All their videos are accessible and apply equally well here.

(269,157 posts)And the background story
https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/politics/elections/2020/07/27/greenfield-woman-appears-joe-biden-ad-covid-19/5516381002/
Jessica Alvarado said she has strong political beliefs but doesn't consider herself politically active.
But the Greenfield mother of four is entering the political fray in a big way, appearing in a national advertisement for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
The ad launches Monday and is meant to highlight the coronavirus pandemic on older Americans, while criticizing President Donald Trump and his administration.
Alvarado said her 90-year-old grandmother, Susana Martinez, contracted COVID-19 and died April 29. On Saturday, the family gathered for a socially distanced memorial.
LeftInTX
(25,526 posts)The one in the original post just doesn't "pack a punch" for me, but Joe's does. It has facts, but there is no "menacing music" "bolts of lightening" and all the stuff needed for a negative ad.
I think the OP was probably created with no budget, but this ad has the "drama". Plus it isn't a real "political ad" because it is produced in Australia.
