We do lol let's make Europe as a whole a case study. Europe had 182 thousand deaths yet 1.7 million cases. America has 150 thousand deaths and 4.2 million cases. Unless Corona just kills more Europeans naturally there isn't enough testing happening in Europe

They're running out of needed meds. They are shipping patients elsewhere. But one nearby facility is refusing many patients because they're full too. They're talking raising their ratios for the COVID patients. They hired and trained a bunch of people in April, but many of them didn't work out, and the others got laid off when all the money went away because the elective surgeries went away. Now they're doubling up in the single rooms. The ED is getting severely stressed. I have a summer student hospitalized with COVID. Yeah, this shit is all over, and you just don't see it unless you're on the front lines, or you go looking for it.

Hell, she had a patient with it bad. Could well be dying bad. Already had bad COPD. Tested negative the first time because many people do a shit job with the nasopharyngeal swabs. Caught it with an oh-shit chest x-ray and confirmation by CT. In the meantime she was coughed on for hours by someone not even on droplet precautions. Not the patient's fault. And at least they let her wear a surgical mask now. Had to report it to employee health, but she's still expected to go to work. They take her temperature, but they never test her. Not even now. While down the hall, another patient, an asshole rightwinger well over the limit on his self-righteous confidence and bullshit cocktail is demanding to know her politics. Demands she agree that it's all a fucking conspiracy. Because if they can get everyone around them to say it, it's true. They're angry and confused, and they didn't build themselves to be this way. But they are this way. And what they are is a gang of stupid, nasty shits.

It's like a slow rolling tsunami, and all you can do is hold on and see how high the water's going to get this time around. And damned near half the people here are trying to cut us all loose so we can just float out to fucking sea.

in general because he was never any good at it himself. Perhaps growing up he could usually find a way to cheat on his schoolwork (and thus never learned anything)--except when it came to taking those damn tests! And he has hated testing ever since.
