&feature=player_embedded#!How do you get almost the entire cast of The West Wing (sans Rob Lowe, who to be fair wasnt on at the end of the series) to reunite for a campaign commercial for a Michigan Supreme Court candidate in a non-partisan race? Well, it helps if the candidate is the sister of Mary McCormick, who played Deputy National Security Adviser Kate Harper.
The ad is surprisingly great, and while Josh does deliver some stump-speech genericism, overall, its almost exactly what youd want from a political campaign starring the cast of The West Wing.
Also, Donna! God, I miss Donna. We never see her anywhere, anymore.

(25,415 posts)I am still seeing him as the Fake Red John from the Mentalist. I need to go back and watch some old episodes of The WW. But this ad is incredible.

(75,480 posts)Rob Lowe, maybe has become a Republican, being he campaigned for Ahnold in California. No thanks Rob, for sticking us with Governor Schwarzenegger.

(21,642 posts)"Brand New Candidate", set to the tune of Melanie's "Brand New Key" (think 1972). The gist of it was, this is a mess, let's start over with new candidates. The line in the song that got laughter followed by enthusiastic applause was, "I want a brand new pair of candidates/Someone like Martin Sheen."

(5,912 posts)The one where Donna gets blown up in an SUV when she is on a fact finding mission in Gaza. It was oddly about the time when that video tape was realeased with Mittens saying he didn't think Palistinians wanted peace. I can't believe how on the mark that show was at times.

It really is awesome that so many of the cast are involved in this!

(25,253 posts)that I believe did more to educate people about our government and get people thinking political than anything else. It's ironic that people listen and believe more of what they hear from actors that play roles of government employees and elected officials than from the elected officials themselves. People have become very jaded on what they hear from candidates because of all the negativism and lies that are generated by them in their campaign ads.
I sure wish that West Wing was back on - but I'm thinking that it did have its impact on us as a society and its time now to move on and do for the media in the form of a program like "The Newsroom" as "The West Wing" did for government and the presidency.

(14,040 posts)and I heart it. The jacket thing is so totally great! I find myself strangely fascinated with how he puts his jacket on. And the only 2 that don't look any older are CJ and Donna.
