What's everyone's guess on extending unemployment benefits?

Several things can happen.

1) They expire at midnight. A deal will be reached some time after expiration (probably in a week or two).

2) A deal is reached before midnight today. This deal will either be continued we get the $600 till January, or lesser benefits such as $400 or $500 per week, or a $600 gradually reduced to $500, then $400, etc.

3) A short-term deal, where they are extended a week or two while they work on the full deal next week.

4) No deal. We go into Election Day with no extended benefits.

Anything I forgot? What's most likely to happen?

Some type of deal in coming weeks. Depends on McConnel thinking Pelosi will cave on shield law or not

Maybe, she would go down to $500, or maybe she would accept $600 till November, but I lean toward no. Mitch has come up a bit from first throwing out the ridiculously low $200 a week offer. Will he (and Trump) go up to $600? Maybe if...

We give him some BS that he wants, like more money for border security or the military, or some type of tax credits. I say go for it to get the $600. We can always reverse it in January if Biden wins.

Nancy and Chuck I hope will stand their ground getting $2,000 direct checks per month and $600 a unemployment or we'll be in a depression within 3-6 months . Those amounts will maybe save us from a depression , and anything less we will be headed for a long , long recovery after the trump depression fully hits, and it will. Letting people get to the brink now while waiting over 2 months is not playing well at all with millions of Americans now. Fascist trump may be doing it to incite violence, and to oppress people more from it.

8. 1) Senate is out for long weekend. Nothing happens 'til they return

2) Addison Mitchell McConnell McTurdle is in charge of the Senate. Nothing good will happen. Period.

3) Repugs in the Senate can't even agree on doing anything at all, let alone what to do if they were going to do something. A large bloc of them (tea-baggers) are opposed to ANY more spending whatsoever. So nothing will be done, period.

So real people are f*cked. By repuglikans. Surprised?
