November worst case scenario: Trump files suits against all states he loses

Before you start typing to scold me, I do NOT want this to happen, and I recently gave the legal maximum to Vice-President Biden's campaign. I want Biden to win by a historic margin, bigger than 1936 and 1972.

Worst case scenario: The Electoral College win for Biden is not huge, and it is won largely with mail-in voting. We all know Trump and Barr hate mail-in voting.

Trump files lawsuits against all states he loses, claiming electoral fraud. As in 2000, the cases go rapidly to SCOTUS. In 2000, SCOTUS screwed us over. Will we get screwed over again in 2020 ? We know that 4 of the 9 Justices would probably vote for Trump.

Have others thought about this ? I fervently hope we don't have a repeat of 2000, and get stuck with Dictator-wannabe Narcissistic Psychopath-in-Chief for another 4 years.

4. Perhaps that is his plan but the SCOTUS will not side with this absurd scheme.

They have shown in recent rulings that just because a Justice is conservative does not mean an automatic vote to help Trump.

7. What are you going to do if that happens?

If you don't have well thought out plans in place, I don't see how this scenario is much of a concern for you. I believe you won't like it but that's about it.

8. what kind of question is that ?

It is rude. I would do what I can to support the DNC and Biden. It's a legal matter and I am not a lawyer.

I am losing no sleep over this. If it doesn't happen, wonderful. If it does...we'll deal with it.

I don't run the Biden campaign... so... again..... what a question.

Learn some manners.

9. I think some forward looking people are thinking about this.

During their last video town hall, the Lincoln Project people talked like they were thinking of responses to some of these possibilities. And I think they are not the only ones.

I don't know anything about geopolitics, but my hope would be that if Biden clearly wins the election, many nations will step forward and "recognize" Joe Biden as the rightful president elect and conduct international relations with his team as if he will be the next president, which could have some value. Maduro is no longer recognized as the president of Venezuela, to give an example, although so far that hasn't helped to dislodge Maduro.

17. The 2000 case in FL was over a recount that was within the margin of error

He would have to first ask for recounts, that were within the MOE. If a recount is done and found to be legit he would have no legal recourse in said state. Even in past elections most percentages of wins are not within the margin of error

18. He can't just file a suit with the Supreme Court over that.

This is alarmist. 2000 wasn't over fraud. It was over extending the deadline to recount ballots in specific areas of the state. It only went to the Court because Florida's Supreme Court's ruling, which ordered immediate manual recounts of all ballots in the state where no vote for president had been machine-recorded. Bush's team then appealed that ruling to the Supreme Court.

The only reason the Supreme Court was brought into it is because the Florida Supreme Court extended the recount deadline.

In no scenario would Trump be able to appeal to the Supreme Court in regards to potential fraud. At the end of the day, the Florida Supreme Court, and subsequently the Supreme Court, were only brought into it because Gore appealed the recount on specific grounds - nothing to do with fraud.
