The combined zealotry fundamentalism and faith over facts is literally deadly to entire nation

All those evangelicals that call us demon-crats are desperate for the thrice married rapist racist adulterer to retain power so they can continue their theological domination over all the horrors that come out of Trumps white house. But they are really shit at running the country. When you rely on allegories in a book written 5 thousand years ago to create law of course if will be fucked up - and that shit will kill people. But even though they and their great orange god have failed by every metric out there, that matters not one jot to a group of people who proclaim that they are being persecuted when all the while generational persecution of anyone who is not part of their white racist privilege happy clappy smug cult of in built advantage, that they refuse to recognise, but that is self evident to everyone else. Of course they don't care that everyone else sadder and poorer, cause power, privilege and Jesus. In a statement of the obvious they need to be routed in November!

very aware of the zeal of brown-skinned Evangelicals that is as damaging as anyone's. I think it's
good for all of us to remember that Evangelicals, Nationalists and Racists come in all skin colors. No
one ethnic group has a lock on fanaticism...

There's these 'non-denom's' out there that usually have a "I was massed up on drugs, now messed up on Jesus" addict as a pastor who's 'dream' is to build a church. Snappy music, god needs money, and a morality straight out of the middle ages. Scumbags preaching about a scumbag god. And sheep ready to drink the cool-aid and vote tea party. Or storm a state house with semi automatic weapons.

I'm in recovery---facing my demons, not stapling wings on them and calling them angles.

This "senior preacher" is allegedly in recovery and has a massive church with thousands of parishioners. They have a multimillion dollar budget with six figures plus going to all of their associate ministers. By virtue of their size and influence, they carry immense weight within the community pulling people in in droves and the mindset of every one of their parishioners is the same: cult like.

My wife is heavily involved in the recovery community in our area and this nut job preacher has caused immeasurable harm by offering counseling services which are not credentialed and are performed by lay people. Their mindset is one of focusing addiction triggers towards "Christ", translation their church, and offering little to no real recovery help to those with addiction issues.

And that's just one side of their fucking cult. That doesn't even touch the vast amounts of money they're taking in and how much influence they carry on local politics.

4. He did not even so much as serve as dog catcher before this.

That's what gets me. Then again, I'm kind of glad for the dogs, because he wouldn't even be fit to be dog catcher and I wouldn't wish that on any dogs anyhow.

He just up and decided to run for president and now the place is in shambles.

It is a smoldering ruin.

Americans are now the unwelcome disease ridden immigrants Trump claimed Mexicans were. My, how the tables have turned on that narrative. I don't blame other countries. I'd close the borders to Americans too. Even those of us who aren't acting silly over wearing masks have still been exposed to the ones who are and no other country wants that kind of special brand of stupid infecting their population. If we are ever able to leave the country again and any other country will let us come visit, it's back to claiming we are Canadian again to hide our shame.

What is wrong with us that we are tolerating that kind of childish, selfish stupidity? We should have long since weeded them out and sent them to a forced quarantine center. It is not like they aren't clearly marked. They are the ones not wearing masks. I wonder if that would also eliminate Trump's camo wearing bullies who are attacking and disappearing protesters too.

Our government is openly hostile toward us. We cannot even tell a cop we disagree without being attacked with chemical weapons, then shot with rubber bullets, and/or murdered, depending on our skin color. Wow, those rubber bullets are huge and cops are definitely not glad to see American citizens. Strange unmarked, roving gangs of camo wearing Trump thugs are randomly attacking, then disappearing people. I still think protesters should be allowed legally to protect each other and get together to physically fight back against any thug without any ID who is attacking them. It could be any Republican thug under that camo. How are we supposed to know which ones are just random Republican thugs dressed in camo and which ones are some kind of secret Trump police? How would we even be able to tell the difference? They act just alike. Why should we have to put up with that creepy crap anyhow? Weren't the regular police brutalizing people enough for Trump and his band of sadists?

We cannot leave the house without possibly dying or being maimed by a deadly pandemic that has run amok, because we have a president who thinks doing ostrich impersonations and pretending like will make it go away magically. Republicans have literally turned themselves into walking biological warfare, then decided to attack the rest of us for wearing self defensive masks.

Bet they don't act that way over masks when they paint or use power tools in their workshops. I double dog dare them to apply herbicide or pesticide with no mask on. I triple dog dare them to use power tools to do metal work with no mask on.

Better yet, let's ban masks for them. They'll raise holy fucking hell to keep their right to bear masks. We won't ever have to see their ugly scowling faces again. BONUS!

You are right. This is life living under a zealot led and controlled government. Impeaching Trump would have only made it so we ended up with Pence. Trust me. He is not better, by any stretch of the imagination. If he was, he would have pulled Orange Joffrey aside and stopped even just one of the nincompoops made up lies from obfuscating the facts. If Pence was any better, at some point, he would have tried to stop at least just one of Trump's lies, attacks, or fairy tale world "medical" claims.

60 million voters told us how much they misunderstand what elected office requires.

They wanted a savior, not a servant.

But they are too stupid to know the best servant is the best leader.

And so they chose, who they called in their own Bible, the Antichrist instead. The whole thing is more ironic for them than a Hollywood script, and even more ironic for non-believers because they see the reality more than Evangelicals.

They should have kept their faith in Jesus instead of Trump.

In years past, it would have been considered an outlandish parody if someone made it a Hollywood script, except now, Trump really is the master they chose to serve. They should ask themselves which master they think they are really serving.

Kind of reminds one of the situation of the Dark Ages ushering in the
Renaissance. It prompted an observation by Denis Diderot, philosopher
of the time, who famously said: "Mankind will never be free until the last
king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest".
Talk about prescient....

8. It depends on the allegories.
Wed Jul 29, 2020, 08:37 AM

There are plenty of allegories in the Bible that would be a great basis for a society. However, the people who claim to be "Christian" have chosen to promote a different selection of allegories.

It's not the book. It's them. And as a nation, our problem isn't that we have an unqualified, criminal leader. Our problem is that half of us think he's doing a great job.
