Gallup poll: Democratic voter enthusiasm increases twice as much as Republican voter enthusiasm.

Gallup just released a poll showing that Democratic voter enthusiasm is up by 20 points in swing states, compared to a 10 point increase for Republican voter enthusiasm.

The obvious question now is: just how many of those enthusiastic Democrats will get turned away from the polls by voter suppression laws.

The media meme about this election has *always* been that the Republican base is so stoked and motivated to vote, whereas Obama's base is depressed and too disgruntled to vote.

Balderdash. I am one of those people who wasn't totally happy with Obama. I complained a lot! I still have issues. I even switched my voter registration to Republican, so I could caucus for Ron Paul in the Republican primary. So technically, I am a registered Republican--but I'm really a Democrat and will always vote for the Democrat over the Republican.

Given all of that--you couldn't keep me from the polls. After seeing what monster Mitt Romney is all about--I am more galvanized and "fired up, ready to go" than EVER!

I think Romney's train wreck of a campaign has made the majority of Democrats collectively say, "OHHHH HELLLL NO!"

Our party is just as motivated as the Republicans, and probably more so. Romney has demoralized and embarrassed their entire party. Sure, the rabid fools who are drunk on Glenn Beck won't miss a chance to cast their anti-Obama vote. However, the Independents and the reasonable Republicans are probably not as motivated as they were before Romney opened his mouth and drove his campaign into the ditch.

Plus, I have been to Obama campaign events where attendance was 10,000+. Most of Romney's campaign events in our state have been held at small venues with "several hundred" attending. The Dems are ready to vote for Obama.
