Every fucker who thinks that the Confederate Flag and those that fly it need to be pampered to are traitors to those who died needs to watch this film again and again. Those run away slaves who gave their lives to the Union and freedom. These black men and the black men that came after them where important in the winning the war, when racist fucking slave owners and their enablers did treason then and now do everything they can to make it OK today. BLM. Period. Then and now, same shit different day.

Guess my attention to it has gone back by recently watching Confederate apologist videos on YouTube.

(53,845 posts)a few weeks back on the "History Channel"? Grant proved to be the best general of the war over Lee even. But the doc showed many instances where confederate forces surrendered to Grant and the traitor generals tried to negotiate terms from Grant by asking that their personal and other enskaved humans be allowed to go with them as they returned back to their homes.
Grant always denied them, only allowing them to keep their horses and side arms.

(58,706 posts)Overall it's pretty good. Maybe not my favorite war movie, but way up there in probably top 5 at least.
I mean, hell, how can you go wrong with Denzell and Freeman? Certainly one of Matt Broderick's best roles, too.
