Florida will consider reopening breweries, bars next week

Department of Business and Professional Regulation Secretary Halsey Beshears will begin drafting a plan next week to allow Florida’s struggling breweries and bars to reopen, he announced Saturday.

“Next week starting Friday, I’m going to set meetings throughout Florida with breweries and bars to discuss ideas on how to reopen,” Beshears tweeted. “We will come up with a Safe, Smart and Step-by-step plan based on input, science and relative facts on how to reopen as soon as possible.”

The announcement comes after the Florida Brewers Guild sent a letter to Beshears and Gov. Ron DeSantis Tuesday, begging state leaders to make an exception for their industry.

They warned the pair that more than 100 breweries are at-risk of permanently closing within the next two weeks if they remain restrained to a to-go only business model.

What is wrong with them? That's about the worst thing they can do. Have they checked their hospitals lately?

What waitress or bartender would work there? Either lose your job or die?

While their unemployed got screwed in Florida?

All while they were one of the major contributors to the boom in infection.

No, they can ask Moscow Mitch why he has blocked further COVID-19 disaster relief.

Just set up a temporary hospital right next to the breweries and bars. Just cut out the ER visit and take ‘em straight to the make shift Covid ICU or cardiac care unit, as the need may be. 🙄

DeSantis will pay for this. Floridians won’t forget.

Had a bit of insight from Beau of the Fifth Column this a.m. He said our illustrious Senator, Rick Scott, was pontificating about how schools in Florida MUST open. When asked if his grandkids would be attending he quickly said.....oh, no, no, no. They’ll be attending virtual school.

No, sireee. Scott’s grandkids won’t be the canaries in the mine. Guess that’s all any of us need to know. Eh?

even if it causes someone else to make a dying. DeSantis is consistent; he has always made the wrong decision when dealing with this health care disaster.

They're testing 60k per day & 7 day positivity is 19.0.
And they think reopening bars, which contributed to the problem in the first place, is a good idea?
We're still doing 50% maximum attendance in Illinois, and positivity is 3.5.
Seems really stupid.
