'Wall of Veterans' Arrives in Portland to Protect BLM Protesters from Trump's DHS Troops

A group of military veterans joined Black Lives Matter protesters in Portland as part of an effort to protect them from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) forces on Friday night.

Masked and goggled. Some wearing black hoodies emblazoned with “Black Lives Matter.” Some with attire designating their service branch. Many with their hands held tight behind their backs. Others with signs expressing opposition to recent attacks on demonstrators.

“I am an American patriot,” one such placard read. “Federal troops defend property, but this does give them the right to take away my constitutional freedom.”

The veterans say they were inspired to join the protests after U.S. Navy veteran Chris David was repeatedly beaten with a baton by one DHS agent before being directly pepper-sprayed in the face by another.

These Veterans served this country with honor. It matters that they are concerned that one of their own was treated badly.

More cities with Mom's and Veterans together in resistance. Show Trump he is waging a losing war.

during the Easter troubles ... and just as it says in the Counterinsurgency Manual (though probably phrased differently - I didn't go through all two megabytes) - every person unjustly treated brings ten more to the cause. Of course, that's ten, more or less. In the case of veterans, it's clearly more.

He can't even do despotism right.

Our Mayor Ted Wheeler was out there and got tear gassed for doing nothing. Also a city councilwoman Joann Hardesty has been out there every night for BLM. We have good government here. They have demanded that the storm troopers leave for weeks now.

Naw, that's bullshit. I love those movies, because they always make me cry, just like this article did.
