'petitions to deny' license renewals against Sinclair.

(8,051 posts)part of our laws that allow this insanity to lie to millions of people with impunity. I totally believe in free speech, and all ideas have their place. But to pass conspiracy theories off as "truth" has to be dealt with. We need to have disclaimers or something read into the law about what can be broadcast on OUR airwaves. We ALL own the airwaves, but they have been taken over by those who are trying to destroy that freedom.
Smarter people than me need to come up with a way we can have ideas aired, but not passed off as truth.

(1,041 posts)Totally agree...something has to be done about this.
The Bush admin used to get called out for denying reality...that seems quaint by comparison.
Technology is being used to spread attacks on science ..that is not the sort of irony I like.

Over the weekend, Sinclair announced it would postpone and "rework" the segment featuring discredited "Plandemic" researcher Judy Mikovits which was set to air during the program "America This Week" hosted by Eric Bolling.
But on Monday, the company pulled the plug altogether.
"Upon further review, we have decided not to air the interview with Dr. Mikovits," a spokesperson for Sinclair told CNN Business in a statement. "Although the segment did include an expert to dispute Dr. Mikovits, given the nature of the theories she presented we believe it is not appropriate to air the interview."
