The man is too valuable NOT to have a position. Perhaps Sec. of Defense.

in the federal government should Lt. Col. Vindman want one. There's actually an official preference for hiring ex-military, especially in places like the DoD, DHS, etc., to the point that some worry it's too much of a good intention. And of course our various intelligence services for those with backgrounds in military intelligence and national security.

Agree that Vindman has to be in high demand. He probably has stacks of offers worth considering.

First, I believe there is something about 5 years out of the military. It was waived for Mattis but I wouldn’t make that a habit.

Second, SecDef should combine military skills with civilian wisdom. They’re the balance point. I don’t think he’s spent enough time in the grey zone of civilian life to bring that wisdom.

Net. Great patriot. Should be SecDef someday, just not 2021.

he's always earned ahead, just not the one he'd planned. He's served 21 years so apparently will get about half of his highest base pay for retirement. Income-wise, he'll make more elsewhere, on top of his military benefits.

I look forward to watching you working with President Biden in his Administration and to bring America back to where it was once a haven for the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free. Once this nation was truly admired by the rest of the free world.

Thank you for your courage and your service!

He should kick back, relax and not have to worry about the phone call or staff car out front. If he wants back in the game later, President Biden certainly would be open to it. Director CIA or NSA maybe?

Though I'd rather see him appointed Lord High Executioner and be given an axe, hood, and a wooden stump as a place for the traitors to rest their tearful heads before the final chop. He'd be very busy in such an office, very busy indeed.
