Stop calling them federal agents. Until proven otherwise, call them "mercenaries".

Or “shock troops” or gestapo, if you like. But some of us have a hunch that they are getting paid through a mercenery company like Erik Prince’s company, so until proven otherwise (via a specific command structure), I think “mercenaries” is an apt description.

This guy was a federal agent.

So were these guys.

And these guys.

People with no badges, no ID, and no legal authority to arrest citizens who are asserting their rights to freedom of speech and assembly.

Not really into the hunch thing - wishful thinking that's too close to CT land.

We literally have no more proof of them being “Federal Agents” as we have of them being “mercenaries”. They certainly aren’t acting like “Federal Agents”. Seems like an insult to the FBI and DEA to call them “Federal Agents”. There’s no transparency, no oversight.

On the DHS website, they are described as “federal law enforcement officers” — they don’t even have a specific institution.

The situation in Portland for the past 55 straight days, continues with violent anarchists rioting on the streets of Portland as federal law enforcement officers work diligently and honorably to enforce federal law; they do so by defending federal property and the lives of their fellow officers.

They also say “ One injury to a DHS officer has been reported; and no injuries to protestors or rioters have been reported” —for the night of the 23rd / morning of 24th. For the record.

That's what DHS is calling them.

I just don't understand the need to create a scenario where dark forces are at hand when the simple explanation is that these guys (and possibly gals) are existing law enforcement officers pulled from their day jobs to do this - none of them trained to do what they're doing, but that's a different issue.

My guess is that some of them are ICE and some are Border Patrol, and some are possibly even correction officers - none of which play particularly nice as you seem to believe the FBI and DEA do.
