and where are their stories? The reason I ask is that we see them being hauled away but we dont see their faces and remember the one repeated in the news where the crowd is yelling whats your name and they dont turn around?
If the mercenaries know its illegal for them to arrest people maybe its a scare tactic? And they really cant hold them in a facility. Where would they hold them?

Besides all that, a person can be arrested with insufficient evidence to convict; it happens every day. The purpose of these secrete troops are to make a point, not a conviction. The whole situation is just election year politics by a President who has no qualms about abusing the power of the office for political means.
These "troops" are no more than Trump Brown Shirts who are instigating more problems than they are solving. They should be held individually and collectively accountable for Constitutional violations. Of course if that happens, they will plead the Nuremberg Defense, of "I was only following orders" which was not accepted by the war crimes trials.
Local sheriffs should take some of these troops into custody if found violating citizens rights and out them to the world. We need to see mug shots instead of masks. We need to know who they work for, and where their orders originate. In a free society, with nothing to hide, this would not be an issue.

(3,803 posts)Dad with leaf blower arrested Tuesday, says he was taken to ground by federal officers during Portland protest
A man who attended Mondays Portland protest as part of the PDX Dad Pod, was arrested by federal officers early Tuesday morning. He said officers took him to the ground after they tried to take away his leaf blower.
Zack Duffly, a 44-year-old Portland attorney, attended the protests for the first time Monday. He said he went to express his opposition of police treatment of Black people and of federal officers treatment of protesters in downtown Portland.
He arrived before 9 p.m. and met up with the group of dads, who organized to protest and support the Wall of Moms. Many Dads wore orange, hard hats and some brought leaf blowers which can be used to disperse tear gas. They marched and listened to speakers.
Duffly sent text updates to his wife throughout the night.
Just kind of marching around, he texted around 11:30. Very mellow.
His wife sent a text a bit later telling him to let her know if there is an emergency.
And that was it for the next 14 hours, Duffly said.

(10,900 posts)His arraignment happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was charged with federal disorderly conduct. He has a trial date set for the misdemeanor charge. He also has a curfew and cannot be within five blocks of the courthouse.
Arrest somebody for no damn good reason, then slap them with legal curfews so they can't go out and protest again.
That's quite a racket they got there.

With thousands of protesters, there will always be a few bad apples.
Yes, they are using scare tactics and intimidation on peaceful protesters. No excuse for grabbing protesters etc
