She decided to jump up to a place the cats dont normally go and got herself stuck on one of those long fly traps with the thing on the end hanging on a lamp.
It stuck to her and she started freaking out a bit and i was able to catch her and rip off most of the strip, she got away again with just the end piece stuck to her leg.
She wouldnt let me close so i waited and eventually she walked back and let me pull the last piece off.
luckily the trap had been out about a week and wasnt super sticky and she is a short hair. i wiped down the sticky parts with some olive oil and she spent the rest of the day licking off most of the sticky.
her legs a bit sticky still but overall it wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. those things arent toxic thank god and when they have been out a few days they arent as sticky as they could be.

(205,384 posts)That had to be pretty traumatic. I cringe to think what would happen to my cat in the same situation, he is very long haired with a great bushy tail and I have a tough time just trying to brush him, he does not tolerate being fussed with even though I've had him since he was a kitten. I found him in a supermarket parking lot back in 2014 and I guess he learned his tough behavior back then, but one would think he'd have gotten over his trust issues by now.
