There is nothing going on here in Albuquerque except we the people are doing our best to halt the spread of Covid-19, so that we can eventually re-open. It's very true that we have problems with over-zealous & murderous policemen, but I doubt if that's why trump/Barr's secret killer elite troops are being deployed here.

Besides, our Mayor may be a Democrat, but he is also a very strong male. So far it seems that #GestapoTrump has been going after Female Democratic Mayors ( for some reason he considers them to be weak)

But, apparently it is Governor Michelle Lujan-Grisham, (who is not only a strong Democrat, but also a very strong woman) who #TraitorTrump actually fears.

It appears that #GestapoTrump is pathetically confused in many more ways than one.

10. Bernalillo County Sheriff Manuel Gonzales

wants to challenge Mayor Tim Keller. He wants to run on “law and order”-although he won’t obey the new law that requires his deputies to wear body cams. So, in pursuit of his political aims, he appealed to Trump. He said ABQ’s crime was out of control. Gonzales was in DC today to make his case.

In order to help win an election, he has been the tool for this administration to attack citizens of his own city and county. There’s a special place in hell for Sheriff Gonzales.

I knew last night he had been behind this. There is a Santa Fe New Mexican article about it. Sen. Heinrich apparently was not pleased. The ugly details were spelled out in a comment about this on Talking Points Memo. Full disclosure, the member/commenter did not cite a source. It dovetailed well with the newspaper’s story, though.

Bernalillo Cty. Sheriff Manny Gonzales, a conservative Dem., wants to challenge Mayor Tim Keller in the next primary, so he went and met with Turnip today to ask for feds to be sent to Albuquerque to boost his own tough on crime bona fides. There is a real gun and drug violence problem in the city and county, but this is much more about Gonzales positioning for the primary. He’s been making a lot of tough talk the last several months, refusing to implement the law requiring body cams on all cops, claiming them using their own cell phones will be better. He’s a fool, though, if he thinks he’ll beat the popular Keller by alienating the very activated Burque progressives who will decide the primary, and then he’s a double fool if he thinks he’ll win the general by stealing NE Heights R’s from whoever the R candidate is. He won’t have the well of Rio Rancho reactionary R support he was able to draw on running county-wide because it’s a different city.
