Philadelphia's Top Prosecutor Is Prepared to Arrest Federal Agents

Philadelphia's Top Prosecutor Is Prepared to Arrest Federal Agents
After Trump said he would send agents to more cities, Philly’s district attorney lays out how he might criminally charge federal officers.

“Anyone, including federal law enforcement, who unlawfully assaults and kidnaps people will face criminal charges from my office," warned Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.

After numerous reports and lawsuits in Portland regarding un-badged and un-uniformed federal officers arresting, beating, and detaining people in unmarked vehicles, the Trump administration’s response is that they’re going to do it even more, and in more cities. Saying that his federal agents are doing a “fantastic job,” Trump has suggested that he will also deploy agents in New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Baltimore and Milwaukee to do the same.

In one of those cities, the city prosecutor has already preemptively warned Trump’s police forces what he will do if they bring the same tactics to Philadelphia:

“My dad volunteered and served in World War II to fight fascism, like most of my uncles, so we would not have an American president brutalizing and kidnapping Americans for exercising their constitutional rights and trying to make America a better place, which is what patriots do,” said Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner in a statement. “Anyone, including federal law enforcement, who unlawfully assaults and kidnaps people will face criminal charges from my office.”

Trump claims the federal intervention is needed due to excessive violence, particularly around federal statues and monuments. But legal experts have said the reported federal actions in Portland far exceed legal boundaries.

in front of their vans. Once the tires are flat, they can be arrested. Eric Prince will have to bail them out, make sure he has to use his own money, not taxpayer money. At the rate this tRump administration is spending money, the country will be bankrupt shortly.

Cities have the US Constitution on their side.

Violations of the 1st, 4th, and 5th Amendments. Counter Trump's Storm Troopers with the law.

Why are these federal agents willing to do this and why does Trump have so many of them for a small government Republican?

These assholes have been warning of black helicopters and abusive feds for so many years and they are the ones doing it now.

to promote the false narrative that snowflake Dems have lost control of cities and only Republicans can bring law and order through violence.

Local news in Portland provides a very different perspective than conservative and national news.

The democratic governors and mayors all across the country need to start now with a plan to have the national guard or local law enforcement posted at polling places to make sure these thugs don't try to interfere in the election.

They really need to start NOW to put a plan in place.

The fact that they project on the democrats everything they are doing, so that their base lets them get away with it.

You have to be really really stupid to be a republican voter.

26. The one thing I did hear about Miranda rights
Wed Jul 22, 2020, 06:42 PM
Jul 2020

was from someone (a reporter, IIRC) picked up in Portland. He said they asked him if he would be willing to forfeit his Miranda rights in order to answer a few questions. When he refused, they released him immediately. Sorry, I have no link. I read it in an MSM article shortly after the goons arrived.

So while the kidnappings themselves are unconstitutional, there is some part of the process that evidently is respecting Miranda, to some unknown extent. Not very far, I think.

I have no idea why they would ask someone to forfeit their rights — that sounds ominous. I mean, they could just ask the questions, right? And he could just stay silent. The fact that they asked him to forfeit ALL his Miranda rights suggests they were trying to get him to do so, then use God only knows what tactics after that to get him to talk. That is chilling, and outrageous. But at least they released him.
