14. I do think that was last night

Stupid stuff started happening around 1 am - a few angry, young white guys decided to set a tree on fire and throw stuff at the federal building. There were more people standing around filming with phones and milling about than engaging in the mayhem.

Mom’s with yellow shirts line the front of the crowd. One of the streamers just said that this is typically about the time police would typically move to disperse protestors. I do not see any signs of riot goon squads on the ten views currently up on Woke.

Protest nights have distributed, organic organization. Specialists in this or that skill, i.e. eye washing or leaf blowing gas, step in to cope with the assaults. It’s amazing.

Is showing a substantial line of moms guarding the front of the protestors across an intersection from authorities in black uniforms, and then camo wearing ones to the side of them trailing into the park.

The gassing started shortly after elements of the protestors started boarding up the front entrance to the justice center.

As commentators mentioned, it wasn't that meaningful an action, since the building had exits on all three other sides, but, given that the fed goons' mandate is to "prevent damage to federal property," any attempt to do anything to the building itself gives them the grounds they claim to start with the tear gas, rubber bullets, flash grenades, etc., and clear the entire crowd away from the building. I'm not privy to the strategy of the demonstration leaders, but I think the optics would be better if the protesters kept a short distance from the building itself and, essentially, dared the feds to take action without any grounds; as it is, they can say "well, the rioters were trying to vandalize federal property," and a lot of people will accept that justification.

Last night was harder for me to follow for various reasons like tiredness.

As to my post about firing for no reason, I was paraphrasing what that particular streamer was saying at the moment - from her perspective. Ideally, I try to grab concise quotes and mark them as such, but my brain wasn’t grabbing the quotes as audio feed switched frequently from one streamer to another.

Am currently getting my mind more organized for further protest commenting, and your feedback is certainly helpful for such.

36. What hacks me off big time is that the feds launched their assault of canisters and gas

at the protestors. Then held a line at the base of the federal building for what 20 mins or so. But now? The goons are not there. If they wanted to protect the building/federal property, shouldn’t they have stayed in place?

Very frightening. Out of nowhere - it just started. No warning, and with no regard for people.

52. At one point, I saw a guy hold a leaf-blower up "overhand" at shoulder level...

...which, frankly, is real dumb, because it would give the feds grounds to claim that "we saw a rioter pointing what appeared to be a rifle at us," which would give them grounds for opening fire on the crowd with live ammunition -- and have it justified as "self-defense."
