Joe Biden said in a statement that he will consider any foreign election interference “an assault on the American people” that would result in sanctions and significantly impact the relationship between the U.S. and the interfering government.

We impose any more harsh sanctions on Russia, Putin will move to take everything east of the Dnieper and Kiev itself. The west of that will be unfeasible as a nation and slowly get integrated into Poland and Romania. They already admitted to being approached by Moscow on the issue, but were suspiciously quiet on what they stated. Putin wants more sanctions so he can make the case that he had no choice.

And in the case of China, sanction what? Trump has already done plenty of damage there.

And it gets better, it was already leaked that the sanctions for the invasion of Crimea hurt the EU more than it did Russia. And more sanctions will do the same.

Finally, they will poke around in our elections, but this time there won't be any serious intrusion. Once got them a lot of blow back and don't need more of that. And....a weaker stable USA is better than an unstable one they have no control over...they want to manage us, not destroy. They can't control what happens if the shit hits the fan.

continue to as will the Magnitsky Act plus not allowing Putin in the G7. Then just wait. Russia is really the size of economy as Canada. Wait a while and Putin will not have the money to invade. Especially if it means more sanctions. They put all their corruption in their army and intelligence. Oligarchs are not going to be happy if they cannot invest abroad.

It's natural gas. Most of the pipelines into Europe and Asia are natural gas. Sure, they got a shit load of oil and it is their main export, but its also a liability and less desirable for the EU trying to reduce its carbon foot print. Gold, silver, rare earths, gems, etc. is the real money maker in Siberia, oil is just a nice small benefit....which they can use to crater our oil market. Oil could go even cheaper and it will still not effect them (were trying to squeeze oil out of tar and sand while they are just trying to avoid in stepping in a puddle of it)

After that, its arms (direct competitor to the USA) and tech (how else are they able to hack things?) and some agricultural products.

And for the record, Yelstin wanted inclusion to the G7 (as well as NATO membership). Putin doesn't give a shit about either....with the exception of the latter, he wants to see it eliminated...as do some EU nations. He can get more favorable terms dealing with an EU block vs. EU + USA.
