Or as the Lincoln Project's John Weaver calls him, "the Brown Shirted thug."
Wolf's tweets this morning, the first one:

That was followed by a three-tweet thread starting here, full text below (see the tweets for images) -- and Weaver's comment calling Wolf a Brown Shirt was a reply to the first tweet in this thread:

Here is what I saw in Portland yesterday.
These valiant men and women have defended our institutions of justice against violent anarchists for 48 straight days. We will prevail.
And the latest tweet from this despicable Trump flunky, objecting to an Associated Press story on the unnecessarily violent attacks by federal officers on protesters:

John Weaver's response to him:

If clicking that link also shows a reply to Weaver from Veronica Escobar, a Democratic House candidate in Texas, you'll see she ended her tweet about Wolf with the hashtag #whatatool.
To which Weaver replied that Wolf's "a dangerous tool. This budding brown shirted behavior must be checked."

(65,227 posts)I don't think it's possible to aim an ultralow wattage HeNe pointer into somebody's eyes to do retinal damage.
First, all the victim has to do is close one eye!
Second, with the low divergence of the beam, it's not possible to hit both eyes at the same time.
Third, few people's hands are steady enough to hold it still, and accurately move if the target moves by a quarter inch.
No matter what this moron says, laser pointers are not a weapon, of any description.
Disaffected
(4,569 posts)Green and blue laser pointers are available with much higher power (even though they may be illegal in some jurisdictions) which will cause eye damage with even brief exposure.
ProfessorGAC
(65,227 posts)And that still doesn't address the aiming problem.
Disaffected
(4,569 posts)And there is no aiming problem (unless maybe you have the DTs).
BTW, try aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft and see how much trouble you are in if they find you.
ProfessorGAC
(65,227 posts)You're Hilarious.
I don't believe that anybody was weaponizing a laser.
And if you think a direct strike on the retina is the same as hitting something with 25 time the profile, even at altitude, then I pity you.
I'm done with someone trying to defend the gestapo.
Bye!

(4,569 posts)"I don't believe that anybody was weaponizing a laser."
Yes, I realize that but you have presented absolutely no logical reasons for your belief. Did the URL I supplied change you beliefs at all about high power laser pointers?
"And if you think a direct strike on the retina is the same as hitting something with 25 time the profile, even at altitude, then I pity you."
LOL. What on earth are you talking about?? The major concern with pointing a laser at an aircraft is it striking the pilot's eyes, not the bloody fuselage. And please don't tell us again that there would be an aiming problem.
"I'm done with someone trying to defend the gestapo."
Good grief, who is trying to defend the "gestapo"??
Are you actually a professor?

(33,419 posts)DHS was a post-9/11 creation. In that climate, opposing it was not politically tenable for many Dems.
It doesn't make them equally responsible for it.
Ms. Toad
(34,109 posts)They are not equally responsible, but they are also responsible. That a vote is politically unpopular is not an excuse to vote to authorize some of the most repressive practices in our lifetime - practices that it was easy to predict would be used by an authoritarian Republicans against those with whom they differ politically (or religiously).

If the Governor of Oregon has a problem maintaining order, it's HIS PREROGATIVE to call up the Oregon National Guard. It's not the federal government's opportunity to interfere when they haven't been invited in.

The national response is recognizing this for what it is, too. You're going to lose this round, too.

(10,274 posts)DHS Sec Idiot doesnt know that he doesnt get to make that decision. Welcome to a Posse Comitatus lawsuit, you braindead lackey.
I'll even go so far as to give him the benefit of the doubt, and say 'yep. They're ordered to guard federal property, so they can do that to they're hearts content.'
The other side of that street, tho, is NOT federal property and so they have no legal business being there, unless they're on break buying lunch.
And not for nothin, but Portland PD arresting a few of these mercenaries for being where they're not legally allowed to be, and in defense of peacful protesters, might be a good way to reduce calls for their local defunding. Just sayin.

This is how it starts.
