Complete and utter moron: Anti-mask Republican derided after he dismantles himself amid grilling from CNN hosthttps://www.rawstory.com/2020/07/complete-and-utter-moron-anti-mask-republican-derided-after-he-dismantles-himself-amid-grilling-from-cnn-host/
Florida State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R) is facing a backlash online after appearing Wednesday on CNN to argue against mask mandates, which are intended to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Sabatini told CNN host Brianna Keilar that mask mandates were a violation of Floridas constitution. This is something government has never done before. Weve never had government telling people what you have to do with your own face, he said.
This is truly a novel move for government and we think it violates the bodily and facial autonomy sort of implied parts of [Florida constitutions] privacy clause, continued Sabatini, who has faced criticism for being pictured in blackface. We think it violates the due process clause, because it is an arbitrary and irrational law.

Sabatini contended that mask mandates were different than seatbelt laws because they are literally everywhere you go.

It tells people what they have to do with the whole lower half of their bodies. Doesn't that violate people's bodily autonomy even more?

(22,133 posts)6. I'd say it is time to get rid of this representative who seems bound and determined to cause ...
death and illness to occur among his base and/or supporters. Especially in FL where the CV has seemed to entrench itself and records are being broken on an almost daily basis. For my part, my friends in FL are ignoring the scumbags like this, and still are wearing their masks, being safe, avoid crowds, go to as few places as possible, etc.
