And today we were talking about how long it would take for the virus to spread once they opened up the classrooms to all the kids. The rest of my group were all chiming in with numbers like 10 seconds flat, 10 minutes before they even walk through the front door, 100% new cases within 24 hours.

is that it reduces the opportunities to exploit the crisis for profit when it happens.

Disaster Capitalism 101-first you have to eliminate all the agencies and entities that plan ahead for crises. That way, it's easier to make money off of them.

Someone suggested that things might go wrong. Plans can only be made based on the assumption that everything will work out for the best.

It's called happy path folks. When it fails she'll say, "who could have predicted that COVID19 would break out in the schools."

Everything is in the present. Don't look at previous results to try to understand what might happen. Don't put in contingency plans in case something goes wrong.

Only schools in regions that are at stage 4 of opening can open. Masks mandatory for everyone in the building. Any school or region that goes to 5% or more infection rate, all schools in the district close immediiately and cannot reopen until the rate goes down. Distancing maintained at all times.

Buffalo campus of SUNY requires all students to quarantine 7 days before entering campus. All out of state students required to quarantine 14 days. Major campus activities cancelled. No large lecture hall classes at all. Football might be cancelled. Still in discussion.

That's how you plan for things that haven't happened yet.
