Despite months of warning, the US could soon run out of PPE

The US could soon face another shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) and run out of items like gloves, goggles, and body bags.

Health and Human Services Department documents obtained by NBC News show that national bodies in charge of distributing such equipment have vastly depleted stocks.

The news comes as US coronavirus cases reach record levels.

The documents, as well as testimony from hospitals and healthcare workers, point to a national stockpile that appears to be running low of key equipment, and that did not ship anywhere close to what authorities around the country said they needed.

one damn thing other then perhaps open a clinic in NYC during the height of its CV epidemic (and two hospital ships))?

We have been spending this obscene amount of money for literally decades and we're scrapping the bottom of the barrel on PPE equipment and such? This is pathetic and the WH and Senate should be made to atone and answer why are things so poorly managed ... where is FEMA too? Why haven't decent people stepped up to the plate and demand that more PPE be produced or manufactured? Where are the adults in the damn room?

I'm beginning to wonder if the republicans simply view the military as a cash cow for spending and jobs in their neighborhoods which basically doesn't result in anything long term or result in long term investment gains or better infrastructure. A crime.

7. Again? Somebody in the WH could at least realize the poor optics in an election year, right?

Apparently not. I guess Jared the Wonder Jerk got bored and wandered off to a better grift since this one's played out. Ugh, awful.

Somebody must have plans out on the internet. "How to make body bags out of old MAGA hats."

Unless we are over 6’5”, we will be put in the big yard waste garbage bags. One starting over our head, the second starting over our feet, the open ends Duct-tapped together somewhere near our waists. Our toe-tags will be a piece of Duct-tape taped to the bag near our feet.

Sorry, I have had enough, off to prepare for bed, and hope that I can fall asleep.

Gov. Cuomo was calling for DPA as early as March.

Could probably also be used to boost testing availability and turnaround times.

Where has the Orange Lardass been for the past four months?

15. White House (Navarro) claims "fastest mobilization", "new mask capacity in record time"

When I was working feverishly on behalf of the president in February to help engineer the fastest industrial mobilization of the health care sector in our history, Fauci was still telling the public the China virus was low risk.

When we were building new mask capacity in record time, Fauci was flip-flopping on the use of masks.

Or reagents for tests. We still don’t have additional sick time for HCW who get sick with Covid. All these people out of work. Shuttered factories. Couldn’t the federal government collaborated with business through loans or grants to make the PPE we need?
