At the present time, it is Dr Anthony Fauci. His attempt to blame China is not working that well. He prefers to blame a specific individual. Dr Fauci is the chosen target.
Unfortunately, Dr Fauci is highly rated in all the polls. It just doesn't compute when the world's biggest liar accuses Dr Fauci of "lying".
The truth of the matter is that Dr Fauci's "misstatements" were comments that he made with the information on hand at the time. When the facts changed, Dr Fauci followed the facts. Donald Trump did not.
The liar is desperate and people see thru him.

(3,167 posts)He has never accepted responsibility for anything he's ever done. All he does is blame, blame, blame.
But he has finally come up against something he can't make disappear. The virus doesn't give a shit who he is, or how he acts! He can't make it disappear by deflecting to other things.

(11,885 posts)With propaganda to help trump get re-elected. He's tried to blame many others, and now trying to blame trusted expert Dr Fauci, which is failing badly. His China claims are revenge for not being corrupt for him, and why he's hurting them with the trade deal, it was only done trying to leverage against them to do what he wanted.

(70,516 posts)White House health advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci warned Tuesday that the United States could face even more suffering and death from the coronavirus if some states rush to reopen businesses too early.
It could also hinder states on the road to try to get back to an economic recovery, he testified at a hearing before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. It would almost turn the clock back rather than going forward. That is my major concern.
The White House has laid out a plan that allows states to gradually reopen local businesses as cases and hospitalizations decline and testing increases, among other checkpoints, Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said. He added hes worried that some states are loosening social distancing restrictions even as their Covid-19 cases continue to rise.
What Ive expressed then and again is my concern that if some areas, cities, states, what have you, jump over those various checkpoints and prematurely open up without having the capability of being able to respond effectively and efficiently, my concern is that we will start to see little spikes that might turn into outbreaks, he said.

(11,885 posts)So he can replace him with someone more corrupt he can manipulate easier to do his dirty work for him. He'll claim the reason the response hasn't been good is because of pence, then try to make him drop off the ticket. He doesn't trust him.

(1,789 posts)If he sat back, faked compassion and let professionals do their jobs, we would be better off. Nobody expected him to be an infectious disease expert, so he could have been given a pass for his ignorance for once. He also could have gotten away with his laziness if he sat back and let Pence do the heavy lifting.
Two things stopped him from all of that. One is that he could not stop himself from being the "star" of the daily task force briefings, and spouted nonsense to sound like he knew something. Then, when the Dow Jones plummeted, he panicked. Like all other threats to his reelection chances, the virus got the "it's a hoax" treatment.
He could have gotten away with being flawed if his flaws weren't as massive as his ego. "Unfit for office" is not just a slogan.
