We Need to Protect Ourselves; Stay Home as Much as You Can

Forget the Feds on COVID-19. If your gov is a Republic, forget them too.

I'm no expert but from what I heard from Dr. Osterholm on several cable shows today, it seems like the best way to stay safe.

This is what he says, in not exact words, or to paraphrase; "stay away from other's airspace."

Staying home as much as you can, is important to your health at this time.

Over at our place, customerservicegal is kinda getting sick of me! It's a good thing that I love to cook, and she's not that fond of it, so I still have a roof over my head!

Valentine's Day and I have only run to the store to pick up pre-ordered food.
I come home and wash the food outdoors and then take a shower and wash the clothes I was wearing.
I never wear outdoor shoes inside.
Looks like my lifestyle for the near future too.
Stay inside and away from others.
Wear a mask.

Family members are a main spreader, even those who follow the safety rules.

wearing masks to shop since March, shopping only 2-3 times a month, any socializing is
outdoors.

But I did have a mammo and dentist appt.
about 10 days ago, masked. And we've eaten at outdoor restaurants a couple times. Costco was really crowded last Friday and we won't go at that time again.

I know we are around people a lot less than many, but still not totally confident.

pick up packages and groceries. I did go to Maine for the July 4th weekend and I am now even wondering if that was such a good idea, even though they have a very low rate of Covid infections. Since then I have been in total isolation back at home.

We have to go back to work on Aug 3rd - one week on and one wfh - and I wfh every Friday anyway. I am not looking forward to it. Especially being stuck w/ parents who have kids who are back in day care and school. I just think it is a bad idea. I really hope that something changes between now and then to prevent us from having to go back.

of western NY near Buffalo. Since April, this area only had a trickle of positive cases, like 2 or 3 in a week and several weeks with none.

Then the week after the 4th, we had 13 cases in one day, and 5 more the next day. The following week, we had another 16 cases. People traveled on the holiday or had out of state visitors coming to see them.. Plus, our region was in 3rd stage reopening on the 4th.

People seem to think that reopening means the danger is over. On the few times I have gone to a store in the past 3 weeks, i noticed a lot more people without masks.
