To hell with people dying because he does not care.

The media will become ever more important to get the truth out.

has been a creditable organization. Obviously, not sure under trump. But, it’s not like CDC is particularly trustworthy these days.

Guarantee the orange abomination will try pushing this thru (this one or a different one) prematurely. He’ll want to say he’s fixed it by the election. If we survive to see trump brought down, history books will look at this period for many years to come. But it appears we didn’t learn our lesson from Nazi Germany so I don’t hold much hope. It’s stunning that one man can do so much damage.

on the state level. In Oklahoma the state health department releases updates at least 6 days a week. I signed up for the email and now track the infection rate in an Excel spread sheet. It may take more work but I don't think that they can hide all if the information. The problem might be the Trump loyalists but that is what Open Records Requests are good for.

The states are releasing their own numbers from the hospitals that report to them. We know this is the case because FL and GA have been caught red handed cooking their numbers already.

So I suspect that what we'll have now is competing metrics. The states will have their numbers which the big tracking sites will go by, and the HHS will have their own numbers which will undoubtedly paint a great picture for FOX News to run with.

How far apart the metrics get is anyone's guess, but I will bet by October they'll be so far apart they'll be describing totally different realities.

as sure as anybody can be about anything, nowadays. It's harder to keep things hidden nowadays as it used to be- with social media and people talk. And we already know what's happening with Trump and GOP trying to hide data, which makes anything that they say automatically suspect. But there are not going to be large scores of people dying or getting sick and everybody being able to keep things under wraps. I don't think.......?

I'm just trying to keep some optimism here. I share the fear that most people have in the back of our heads that maybe Trump will be able to snooker enough people a SECOND TIME to stay in the WH for another 4 years but I've got to try to keep my head up or I'll go crazy with despair
