He is now a former employee ..the video shows a Now Hiring sign outside the place
I just graduated high school. I'm working in a minimum-wage job just to save up for college, and then I've got to tell this dude to wear a mask because, that's, you know, what I'm required to do by law," he said, referring to Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly's (D) recent order requiring all residents to wear masks in public to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
"And he's going to shoot me because of that? It just doesn't make sense to me. The cost-benefit analysis is just not, you know, just doesn't work," Kinsey said.

"I was looking at the gun thinking he was going to shoot me. ... My first thought was, I work in customer service, and this is really what's going to happen? All we're asking is that you wear a mask for a couple of minutes," Kinsey told The Kansas City Star.
"We could have taken your order outside if you didn't want to. But you go into an air conditioned area without a mask on, and if I tell you to wear one, you're going to shoot me? Wow. I make $8.50 an hour, for that

(5,725 posts)And the manager's a trumpkin, so, yeah.
At that point, Mr Kinsey called in his manager, Bob Palmgren, who asked the man to explain the situation. Im like hey, whats going on? And he shows me his Trump hat, said Mr Palmgren. And I like Trump. Everybodys got problems. But it doesnt make a difference. You dont have a mask on. And Im like, your guns not going to kill coronavirus, now get the hell out of here.
The bastard thinks his hat is a Do Whatever You Want card, and the manager confirmed it. We'd hear about the guy again someday soon. It won't be pleasant.

(21,485 posts)employee who gets one of those threats also has a gun and shows it.
Gunfight at the OK Coral. We're back to the Wild West.
So, if another employee with a gun is looking out at the dining area from the kitchen and sees the gun threat, can he shoot the customer to protect a coworker and himself?
It's time to start taking down license plate numbers as these gun nuts leave, and then call the police to file charges.

(18,663 posts)That interviewed the kid. He voluntarily quit the job. He felt it wasn't worth what he was making to have to deal with customers who would be hostile when he asked them to wear a mask.
Unfortunately I don't have a link. It may have been a CNN or ABC article.

(21,646 posts)supposed to get killed for that by some red hat MAGA idiot when asked to put on a mask per state order ? Nah
Not worth it so he quit
He is lucky enough to be able to afford to walk away when he realized what he would have to deal with now.
There is a video of him speaking at the end of the link and security footage
Many service workers are still in danger from actions of these types
There are so many lunatics now and some that want to flash guns . Who would know where they may take it next? Thats why he is saying who knows what the next one does
Some are willing to kill( and die) -in another state a guy knifed an old man who told him to wear a mask after he got refused entrance in to a store
He went after police next and was shot dead

Remember Family Dollar guards death its terrible yes deplorable
I went to one small store and they got a security person at the entrance all of a sudden . I guess its so bad they had to hire outside protection personnel
Assholes gonna raise my groceries bill too 🤬

(81,307 posts)I can understand how this kid feels - working for $8.50 an hour and he has to take shit like THIS? And maybe risk great bodily injury or even death because the other guy was a fucking hothead with an entitlement attitude and a gun? NOT worth it! I'd quit, too. Even in this shredded economy there's got to be something better than that!

It used to be just one security person for the rougher late night shift.
