Senator John Kennedy Tells School Reopening Opponents to 'Kiss My A**' on Hannity

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) straight up told people to “kiss my ass” if they continue to oppose reopening schools for political reasons.

The senator joined Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Monday night to discuss the news that numerous schools plan to continue with online learning in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Kennedy argued that “some people seem to be enjoying” the fact that America continues to face troubles because of the health crisis.

“Maybe they just hate America,” Kennedy said. “Maybe they just enjoy watching the world burn. I think some are liking the chaos because they think it gives them a political advantage.”

Even though the CDC has warned about the potential hazards of reopening schools, Kennedy continued by saying they must reopen because “keeping the schools closed is going to hurt [kids] far worse than the coronavirus can.” As he acknowledged those who disagree with his position, Kennedy continued to hammer away at those who think they will politically benefit from ongoing school closures.

“They are using our kids as political pawns,” Kennedy said. “To them I say, unashamedly, they can kiss my ass. That’s wrong to do that the kids of America.”

their argument for re-opening is inherently "political"

if their claim is that keeping schools closed benefits their opposition (aka Democrats) then forcing schools to re-open necessarily benefits them politically.

but let's distill this further: Democrats, and liberals generally, favor sound data collection leading to public health conditions that would support re-opening schools

whereas Republicans, and Trump specifically, oppose data collection and demand schools re-open for political purposes.

disgustingly obvious con-job that plays fast and loose with our lives, but apparently it works for 40% of Americans.

Also, you gotta love the "they hate America" talking point they've dusted off again. If anyone opposes the wishes of president Dump, just accuse them of not being patriotic. That works so well!

Whereas Sen. Kennedy is simply, obediently, and patriotically following the highest ideals of the United States. Not political at all. See, because . . . uhhhhhh. What?! Does he need a reason to love America?! Because that's what he's guilty of! Loving America so gosh darn much.

Because of talking to my daughter, I looked up and schedule for schools was on news, K-6 was full time in classroom and older kids 7-12 got to choose to go to school or do online classes. School starts Sept 8. Considering the young ones spread viruses more I am thinking this has to be about free daycare or parents just wanting a break.

I live in conservative town so this doesn't surprise me but does upset me!

But I am in a blue state so it makes me wonder, how does it work? Who decides? The local schools or the governor?

know that he works for them, and they don't like being lectured like that.

Senator, I suggest that you tour LA and see how many do not want their kids in a Trumpian Covid-19 incubator.

Anyway, you will see this interview in your reelection campaign fight.
