Out-of-state travelers must tell NY authorities where they came from or face fine, Cuomo says

New York — Gov. Andrew Cuomo plans to issue an order today requiring that travelers from certain states give authorities information about where they came from or face fines and a court summons.

The order will apply to travelers from states on New York’s quarantine list, which currently includes 19 states. Travelers arriving in New York from any of those states will have to fill out a form detailing their contact information, where they came from and where they’re going.

$500/ day fine, so up to $7,000 total. The city, however, has admitted that it is pretty much unenforceable. They’re “counting on” people to comply.
