Various right wing groups are advocating for children to go back to school this august

Who amongst the right wing anti-mask, virus is all a hoax nuts will be the first to sacrifice their kids at the altar of trump?

Me thinks there is going to be another major drop in his supporters very soon

will go back first. If they don’t catch it there there’s always Wednesday night Services or Sunday school, or church, or Sunday night services.

on life-support and his re-election chances will completely crater. We have to sacrifice our kids so Trump can be re-elected.

3. Unfortunately, So Is The AAP

American Academy of Pediatrics, is recommended reopening because benefits to children & adolescents outweigh the risks.
They agree with CDC, guidelines, except to change 6 feet of distance, to 3. Even less for K through 2.
So, it's not just right wing groups.
Problem is, I'm not convinced AAP considered the teachers and staff all that carefully.

7. Yep. Plus, kids need education. It's not something you can put off too long.

Not saying steps don’t need to be taken to reduce risk — distancing, light systems believed to kill virus, testing, cleaning, etc. — or that some delay is not prudent. Plus, we lost several month’s already.

9. They're idiots. And they don't care about the adults.

And tell me how good it will be for the kids when they can't hug their friends, recess is abolished, there's plexiglass between them and the other students, they can't eat with their friends either. Then how will they feel when their beloved teacher gets sick, or they take the virus home and get their families sick?

This is going to fuck up a lot of kids.

8. I know kids handle this better than adults

but some kids have serious health concerns that make them at higher risk. Their needs should be taken into account.

And then, we have teachers and other staff. Are they not important?

And then the kids can bring it home to their families.

There really are no good answers here because, at the same time, not everyone has a parent who can stay home with their kids.

One case in Europe already. 24 year old in the second trimester died from Covid-19 and the fetus died.

Just saying.
