Sen. Steve Daines lies about his efforts to gut health care in new ad

The Montana GOP senator hides his past record on preexisting conditions.

Montana GOP Sen. Steve Daines is out with a new ad in his competitive reelection bid, which distorts his record on health care and preexisting conditions.

In a new 30-second spot that began running over the July Fourth holiday weekend, a doctor says she supports Daines because he will protect those with preexisting conditions.

"Steve Daines will protect Montanans with preexisting conditions and fight for lower prescription drug prices," the woman says.

However Daines actually voted to repeal preexisting condition protections during the GOP's 2017 effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

Its an ad full of lies...not even distortions...just bald face lies. He’s got another dandy commercial out where he said he’s holding China accountable for not telling Americans about the virus soon enough and he’s going to make them pay by offering tax credits to companies who will leave China and bring jobs back to the US. It’s the biggest load of horse shit I have ever heard. Makes no sense whatsoever. Nobody can ever call Daines out on his crap because he doesn’t make himself available to constituents. His “town hall” meetings are not made known to the general population of MT. Just his inside group within the party. He’s famous for hiding in the shadows.

Um, not Conrad Burns...? Daines' predecessor. Anyway, why isn't he campaigning for his fellow Democrat? He should at least team up with one of those awesome ad groups and help them make an ad against Daines' lies, especially since he was ambassador to fucking China recently. But then, he's always been a wealthy DINO.

It's like the old guard of Democrats around here won't back the next generation. I don't get it.

I’m having trouble remembering...I was wondering about Max Baucus too. He’s been quiet and you’d think he would back Bullock.

I kinda wish we were. It’s chilly today and I thought we would get a few storms rolling through with the temperature change.

Yeah. Where is Max Baucus??? Speaking of missing in action Democratic leadership in MT...Kind of off topic rambling...but we had our boat out on Georgetown Lake a couple weeks back. I hadn’t been there for a few years...anyhoo, lots of new mansions have been built around the lake. There was one in particular that we were curious about. We used that OnX map app to look up the owner and turns out it is Brian Schweitzer’s home that we were ogling. Haven’t heard much from him either.

He became a lobbyist for coal and oil shale interests or an attorney for those interests last I heard. Someone mentioned it shortly after he left office but he's been mia ever since. Another DINO. Not that he didn't do anything but he sure did hold up a lot of helpful things that could have been less egregious to the environment, he wasn't exactly our friend either.

I was trying to think of Max Baucus whom I never saw as having any real value and seemed to be there to protect his ranching interests and secure a sweet retirement.

Hey, I couldn't remember who the hell Denny Rheberg was and had to google him before I answered to make sure he wasn't a Senator!

She ran on that in 2018. Rachel Maddow caught her and did a segment on it. McSally's entire reputation is built on aspiring to destroy Obamacare and not protect pre-existing conditions. Now suddenly she's Florence Nightingale.

It's especially disgusting. Hypocrites.

They don't even try or even pretend to try anymore, they have some magical thinking that convinces them that they can just get out in front of cameras and all that and just lie and that we will vote for them. The only thing that can account for such thinking is that they would be aware of a cheating operation that would hand them a victory in the election regardless of the actual vote count. They intend to stay in power and have no compunction to be honest about their intentions to sell us out.
