His store reported first confirmed C-19 employee. I am waiting for him to update me on store procedure, if he was in direct contact, etc... He's working today, so won't hear from him for a while. He's been wearing a mask from the start, so I feel pretty sure he's limited exposure. btw, the idiot lawn chair protesters against masks, with their guns, are still in the parking lot- they were moved further from the store entrance, so I guess that's a plus.

(11,770 posts)Literally owe him my life after my car accident. He refused the docs to take me off life support. I made it, and I have those funky scars at the bottom of my neck from long-term vent. He's gonna be okay, I refuse to believe otherwise.

I wish he could just stay in the warehouse but he has to run around all over the place to all of the departments. You kind of learn to live with the fear, I guess.

(11,770 posts)I knew the minute this crap broke out, he'd be out front. He's smart, and knew to protect himself from the get-go. He has only had one guy so threatening the cops had to haul him off in cuffs... Over wearing a damn mask. My son has a great security team and the cops are on property.

(11,770 posts)My other son quit Home Depot in the same area/state, because they were no enforcing any CDC recs. He lost a friend to C-19 up in the Portland, OR metro area. They were in youth group together. Hit my youngest son very hard and when at the team meeting, Home Depot said they were going to leave mask use up to individual choice and not require customers to wear masks, he quit. His friend's death hit him very hard. The guy was two years younger than him, 31. No pre existing conditions as far as my son knows, but that doesn't mean he didn't have one or more. This young man who died from my son's youth group, crushed my son's heart and my son's wife. They were all members and so very close. My heart aches so much because I can't be there to hug them. My daughter-in-law is awesome, and I consider her my daughter. She is struggling, but my son is taking good care of her and they have a huge extended family, which also helps. I lost my husband in 2002 to cancer, so I am super grateful my youngest married into a large family.
