Because fuck you, Republicans, that's why.

(12,392 posts)That would blow the tops off of so many heads! Fortunately very few brains to clean up.
I'm all for the less to clean up.
These assholes have already made such a mess.

(81,861 posts)I think it's a bad idea to put them on the court together. I think it's a great idea to suggest doing so.

(2,227 posts)Anita Hill would be a good replacement (a QUALIFIED woman of color), GUARANTEEING Clarence would resign, allowing Hillary to be selected. It should all happen within a couple of months of Biden being inaugurated.
Yes, Hillary would be a relatively short appointment, but the justice of it would be worth it. She could easily have 10 to 15 long, good years.
But first we must make sure that Moscow Mitch and his good old boys in the senate know that we insist that the rules they set for Obama MUST be followed. As of right now, the turd will not be allowed to appoint any more Supreme Court Justices. Period. We are too close to an election and the NEW President must be allowed to select the next judge(s), per their new rule.
Our democratic leaders should start getting that out there NOW, so the repubs know their charade is over. The republicans may not get to appoint an SC judge for the next 50 years. (So gerrymandering MUST be addressed.)
If the turd still tries to replace them, refuse to accept them, or any ruling that is made by a bench that includes the illegitimate judges.
We can do as their savior of the 80's wife said, "Just Say No".

(205,484 posts)He said he was not interested because it would put an end to his ability to speak out on the issues. This is something we'd need to consider before nominating either Clinton. We need as many experienced voices as possible not only speaking out, but guiding public policy for the future. There's sure going to be a need for a massive cleanup starting in January 2021.

(205,484 posts)I have the advantage of once hearing President Clinton speak in person! He came to my burg to campaign for the Democratic congressional nominee and he sure is one brilliant speaker!

(86,646 posts)they deserve their retirement and I think they have become resigned to it comfortably now. They come out when they should and that's fine.

(205,484 posts)They both have been through more than enough and have given more to their country than any other couple that I can think of. Plus, we sure could use either or both of them on the campaign trail, either now or in the future. As I said, I once saw the former president in action campaigning and he was brilliant. And later when I read up on it, I learned that Hillary Clinton was also working behind-the-scenes. And, as we learned in 2000, having President Clinton speaking out on behalf of a campaign sure can't hurt!

(205,484 posts)I saw an interview in which she talked about her "calling" and she sure has the experience, expertise and drive. She would be an excellent choice, which we desperately need after the worst AG in history who only functioned as advocate for the POTUS, not for the country.
