Difference between bounties and hired hit men?

Is anyone else puzzling over the word “bounties”? What is the difference between bounties and hired hit men?

If you want to kill someone, then you hire someone to do it instead of doing it yourself, it’s usually called “hiring a hitman”. Doing so is the same crime of murder as doing it yourself. Usually there’s a specific target.

If there’s a criminal or an escaped convict or someone that the government considered one of those two things, government may put a price on their head — a bounty — how much they’re willing to pay to anyone who kills them. There may be a “bounty“ on certain wildlife which is obviously not named individuals.

Are we to assume that the same price would be paid for any U.S. soldier? Or were certain soldiers / missions targeted for a reason?

How does the general public perceive the word “bounty”?

Was this practice of Putin’s limited to Afghanistan?

This deal with Putin is just about dead bodies. Bounty hunting, ostensibly, is an attempt to bring a criminal to justice. So, yes, these militants are Putin's Hit Men.
