The revelation that US intelligence had briefed the White House on the Taliban bounties had been a closely-held secret for several months, until US officials began briefing UK and other European allies last week.
The intelligence was first reported Friday in The New York Times and has since been widely confirmed ...

(58,785 posts)even though bounties were only offered for deaths of American soldiers. NATO maintains an ongoing military support mission in Afghanistan. Our troops make up by far most of it, of course, but most or all NATO nations also have troops in it.

(4,522 posts)22 young Americans were shot down like common criminals with bounties on their heads under Trump's watch. 4 died in Benghazi. When does Trump and the other who failed to act begin their 12 hour sessions of testimony under oath? More importantly now that the world knows- what does Trump and the Pentagon plan to do about it??

NATO knew.
Was this around the time Trump seriously began to push the US to drop out of NATO? He actually talked about dropping NATO back in his 2016 campaign.
Request from Putin no doubt.

There's no way the US (for example) shared all the intel it had while snooping on Australia, UK, etc. Or them to us.
The Israelis are an interesting side channel with selective info flows.
