Elijah McClain played violin, a peaceful event in Aurora was met now with armed police. So tragic.

In case you missed it, a peaceful black man was killed by police in Aurora, CO, on August 24, 2019.
Only now is his story being told.

"Here are his last words:

“I can’t breathe.
I have my ID right here. My name is Elijah McClain.
That’s my house. I was just going home.
I’m an introvert. I’m just different. That’s all.
I’m so sorry.
I have no gun. I don’t do that stuff. I don’t do any fighting."

"Did you know that Elijah McClain played violin for kittens in an animal shelter so they wouldn’t be lonely while awaiting the kindness of an adoptive family?"

3. It is, my wife and I can barely take it anymore. Elijah's story is especially raw...

"I wouldn't hurt a fly, I don't even eat meat"

One policeman said he went for my gun.

Yeah, right.

He likes to wear a ski mask, here his is shopping shortly before his death.

2. When I was his age, I was very socially awkward and an introvert

I look back at it and realize I could have talked and acted this way.

I'm white though, so I'd probably survive.

4. This just makes me want to throw up.

I feel physically ill over this. WTF is wrong with this country? Especially law enforcement. There is a sickness that needs to rooted out and disposed of.

6. Just found on youtube, Aurora PD posted 3 hours of body cam of this tragic detainment and homicide.

There is talk about "went for my gun" and missing phones and body cams, too much to sort through but glad the PD posted it.
A very good write up: https://www.thecut.com/2020/06/the-killing-of-elijah-mcclain-everything-we-know.html

Body-camera footage of the arrest did not come out for months.
Body-cam footage of the arrest does exist, although the ADP did not release it to the public until late November, months after McClain’s death. In the footage, an officer can be heard admitting McClain had done nothing illegal prior to his arrest; another accuses McClain of reaching for one of their guns. McClain, meanwhile, can be heard asking the officers to stop, explaining that they started to arrest him as he was “stopping [his] music to listen.” He gasps that he cannot breathe. He tells them his name, says he has ID but no gun, and pleads that his house is “right there.” He sobs, and vomits, and apologizes: “I wasn’t trying to do that,” he says. “I just can’t breathe correctly.” One of the officers can also be heard threatening to set his dog on McClain if he “keep[s] messing around,” and claiming he exhibited an extreme show of strength when officers tried to pin back his arms.

Very little of the officers’ protocol can be seen, however, because all of their body cams allegedly fell off during the arrest. But if you watch the video from about the 15-minute mark (warning: the footage contains violent and upsetting content), you’ll see someone pick up the body camera and point it toward McClain and one of the officers, before dropping it back into the grass. Around 15:34, one of the officers seems to say, “Leave your camera there.”

7. The cops actions from the get-go...

foretell the conclusion. They can't ask questions. They have to be confrontational, dismissive, and physical. They get the reaction, and then they get to play. Sick mofo's.

9. They claimed that he died from "excited delirium".

This seems to be the preferred "diagnosis" used as a coverup for death by police brutality.

They're planning to use it as a defense in the George Floyd murder.

I never knew I could hate anyone as much as I hate the police.

11. His last words, so heartbreaking. He was a quiet boy who played violin at the animal shelter...

A good and gentle soul...
