For some reason I'd thought CNN also confirmed it, but they only independently confirmed the existence of the bounty.

Have any of the news organizations looked at the deaths of US soldiers to see if there is any correlation between deaths and Afghan militants or criminals in an attempt to verify the bounty story?

I mean there are dead bodies and after action reports etc

Were the deaths in combat, by ambush or assassination ? My understanding is there are something like 2 dozen deaths.

It seems to me the intelligence agencies and the military would know or would like to know

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Trump is claiming fake news , should be easy to find out the truth
