He needs to do daily briefings with doctors and talk about what people should be doing, what the numbers are, etc. Enough of this madness, we need a leader.

(16,646 posts)It'd be a fine line between leading, and sewing confusion between those who are in charge and those who are trying to undermine their authority.

(49,047 posts)Please don't attack the nominee with your poorly worded OP title.
Please edit the OP title.
I suggest something like "Time for Biden to fill the Presidential vacuum & give briefings with plans".
I don't think daily is a good idea and it is too much work for what would be gained. Twice a week would suffice, say Tuesdays and Fridays. But even once a week would be fine.

(5,335 posts)Biden is not the president. He won't even be the nominee until after the convention. Right now trump is doing a masterful job of destroying himself. Biden's best strategy going forward is to do just what he's doung. The polls are showing he's doing it right. Let the election process play out. Let's not get ahead of ourselvesd. Joe and his team has been through this many times befire. Let them do their jobs. I trust their judgement and experience.

(153,212 posts)but we are in such a dire situation right now, with no real president, I don't think we can afford to "let the process play out"

(5,335 posts)No matter how many votes Biden gets in November, trump is president until Jan 20. Nothing will change that unless trump resigns, which is highly doubtful.

(15,512 posts)Anything he says or does is going to be twisted into a gaffe or misstep so he might as well play it safe and concentrate on making preparations.

(15,512 posts)Barack could also hold weekly briefings and robotically repeat the sensible advice we've known for four months: wear a mask, wash your hands often, avoid close encounters, avoid obvious risks. What good would it do? Trump has the bully pulpit and will "win" any such battle as he controls the official positions of the US govt. It's an insane situation but that's where we're stuck for the next six months.

(153,212 posts)America needs to hear from SCIENTISTS AND DOCTORS and we're not getting it now. SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING. I nominate Biden, he was not even in my top five but here we are. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

(5,335 posts)The best move is to sit back, conserve your resources, plan your future moves, and let your opponent continue destroying himself.

(15,512 posts)Save your biggest fireworks and ad buys for the end of the show, and work hard on the ground game meanwhile. It worked twice for Jerry Brown and it seems to be working well for Biden. As far as acting presidential no one doubts him on that score as he performed well in the role of veep for 8 years. Super Tuesday made that very clear.

(32,095 posts)Biden has been looking presidential all along. Getting really sick of this "Why isn't he doing XYZ?" bullshit, when he's been doing it all along.

This is becoming the most unusual presidential election strategy ever. Just let you opponent destroy himself and dont interfere.
Biden will strike when the time is right. Now is not that time. As the virus comes back strong due to republican policy there is no advantage changing the subject.
