for the sake of something to write about. After linking to fiverthirtyeight.com saying Biden's lead is bigger than Clinton's was at this point in 2016, and not within the normal error limits of polling, he points out:
Another thing about the Floyd protests and the pandemic is that along with The Trump Show is that theyre constant sources of news, that pre-empt the kind of ratfucking that needed bored media people to go along and barely saved Trumps ass in 2016. Nor is he doing well in the battleground states that allowed him to win the Electoral College. (Indeed, its quite remarkable that AFICT almost nobody thinks Trump has any chance of winning the popular vote; the only question is whether it can be close enough for the framers to overrule the people again.)
As Paul says dont be complacent and act as if its a dead heat, etc., but Biden is an a much stronger position now than Clinton ever was.

It's a good point; the media have loads to write about with real-world events of coronavirus and Black Lives Matter, and Trump's response as an incumbent is the obvious thing to use in election coverage. In 2016, they didn't have an incumbent to write about, and so could say "we better have something about both candidates", and ate up the BS that Trump and Russian bots served up about Clinton.

otherwise a good point
Biden is in a much better position than Hillary ever was for many reasons, and Hillary only narrowly lost. I still believe if her campaign had not completely ignored the trouble signs in the rust belt, she could have easily won.
