"SNIP.....
Los Angeles Times: With polls showing his reelection bid in serious jeopardy, Trump appears to be in deep denial, desperately trying to convince a nation facing prolonged public health, economic and social crises of an alternative reality in which the pandemic is over, polls are fake, and the media and Democrats are to blame
As the coronavirus has raced across the South and Southwest in the last two weeks, fewer Republicans appeared to back the presidents rosy view of the danger to both their constituents and their political futures.
.....SNIP"

(36,158 posts)Hmm? Even now, Americans shouldn't trust that they'll do the right thing and embrace science -- why, that would be conceding to those filthy liberal sciency violent Democrats!
Yes, it's

(11,885 posts)For their complete failures and mismanagement of this virus from trump , and the republicans, and for trump and McConnell's stalling now getting direct checks to the American people. I suspect trump is holding that hostage unless he gets his cut from this next stimulus bill, then he'll lie again while claiming he was for it . Just like with the Ukraine situation, I suspect he's demanding something for himself before he'll sign anything going to the American people, and will demand it be a lot less than what the Democrats have proposed, while more gets funneled into his pockets.

(5,727 posts)Did they honestly believe all that claptrap about it just disappearing one day "like a miracle"?
Did they think they'd just blame liberals?
Did they think all those people with their experience and educations and such were just full of shit?
Was the big plan to bluff their way through a devastating pandemic?

(43,364 posts)Trump has no credibility remaining, and his campaign is wasting time and resources trying to lie their way out of the problem.
There are those pundits, I think Carville said it recently, who believe spring is the time when opinions are formed in the public's mind. In 2016 Trump used those months to sew doubt about HRC. Now the momentum is against Trump and he has no facts or achievements upon which to build an escape from the freefall. The daily screw-ups are apparent to all and minds are being made up. Incompetence is a quicksand that envelops quickly and completely, and extrication requires an external force. Hence Trump turns to China and Russia.

(11,885 posts)they hide the numbers from the American people a lot more than they are already doing. Then while trump publicly claims he wants more testing he's behind the publics back he's preventing more testing.
