GREEN BAY - Mayor Eric Genrich on Wednesday warned President Donald Trump against bringing intolerance and "willful ignorance" to the community ahead of the president's Green Bay town hall and visit to a Marinette shipyard.
Trump is scheduled to tour Fincantieri Marinette Marine in Marinette on Thursday and deliver remarks, according to the White House. Prior to that, he will tape a one-hour town hall on the election and police reform, with Fox News host Sean Hannity at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport.
In a letter Wednesday, Genrich encouraged Trump to listen and learn from all members of the community during his town hall, including "those who have been left out of your vision for America." The mayor, who served in the state Assembly as a Democrat, said Green Bay is a hospitable city with a "vibrant immigrant heritage" and strong ties to indigenous people in the region.
"Our instinct toward hospitality, of course, extends to our president, but I want you to know that it has its limitations," Genrich wrote. "We don't tolerate intolerance or willful ignorance, and we won't endorse or ignore divisive and bigoted rhetoric."

We all know what it is going to be like.
