(111,332 posts)because we got paper ballots in 2005 after the blatant election theft in 2004.
Republicans will undoubtedly send out illegal, alternative ballots because that's how crooks roll, so this year will be a mess. Jail enough of them, and maybe 2024 won't be.

(127 posts)and we can request to be on the Permanent Early Voting List. I've done it for at least 15 years.
From the Arizona Secretary of State website:
"Arizona has a proud history of secure and reliable voting by mail. Most Arizonans already vote by mail, allowing them to fill out their ballot from the comfort of their home and then mail it back or drop it off at any drop-box or voting location in their county. Due to COVID-19, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended(link is external) early voting and voting by mail when possible.
There are two ways to get a ballot-by-mail: (1) join the Permanent Early Voting List; or (2) make a one-time request for a ballot-by-mail. Follow the simple steps below to get your ballot-by-mail and ensure you have a safe, secure, and reliable option for voting in this years elections."

(2,771 posts)California has one. Its no-muss, no-fuss for the voter. Your ballot comes by mail for every election. Id imagine that simplifies things for county registrars as well.
For now, though, Im happy for the improvement.

I'm thinking she will need donations as her sought district is 33, a rich, red area.

First day they had the power, we passed the For the People bill, a giant democracy rescue package. We're waiting on getting it through the senate of course. Automatic voter registration because everyone has the right to vote, and much more.
I don't remember all that's in the elections portion of the bill, but mail-in voting has become so important that if it wasn't there it'd be added. But I imagine it is. It's on line for anyone who wants to look.
