So tell us, all you cowardly Republicans. Why are you voting for Trump again?
Here’s the thing. According to the commentators the Republican’s official excuse is that protesters are keeping everybody away. Let’s just take a moment to peel that excuse back.
If that is true, that means there were hundreds of thousands of Trumpers who came rushing to Tulsa, eager to chant “Build the wall” and “Mexico will pay for it.” Then those hundreds of thousands saw some protest signs and came to a screeching halt. “Look,“ said one, “It says Trump and Pence Out!. Quick, everybody run for your lives!”
Is that true, all you true patriots? Are you afraid to walk past a teenager waving a cardboard sign? Your fearless leader says you are.
And as for Fearless Leader, what happened to him? Just yesterday he tweeted “Any protesters, anarchists, agitators, looters or lowlifes who are going to Oklahoma please understand, you will not be treated like you have been in New York, Seattle, or Minneapolis.” Today the official word is the protesters are running things. You can’t get in unless they let you.
So much for Sheriff Wally Weaknees. The message yesterday was “Protest at your peril.” The message today is “All you have to do is protest and my voters will run away.” That’s a powerful and uplisting message to give to your enemies, and a bitter and crushing one to give to your friends.
So tell us, all you cowardly Republicans. Why are you voting for Trump again?
